Hali’i Christmas 2010
Our second annual Hali’i Christmas celebration, brought together a larger segment of our community than before. We were pleasantly surprised to have more families and children enjoying our special offering of community entertainment. We have definitely set a new standard for family entertainment, during the holiday season in our community. Community groups such as Na Wahine, Champ, Ke Ola Hou, Braveheart and Youth 2 Youth, joined hands with the Department of Health, and Hui Ho’omalu of Partners in Development foundation to create a fun, family environment of healthy activities that our keiki and families thoroughly enjoyed.
The menu satisfied all attendee’s, as did the seemingly endless supply of family gifts and goodies for adults and keiki alike. As one wandered through the many activities, it was a joy to take part in our first year offering of our native Hawaiian book fair, in collaboration with the Blanche Pope Elementary Library. This book fair will return with Hali’i Christmas 2011.
Finally, with the introduction of “Papa Kalikimaka”, one could witness his successful appearance, by the long line of families wanting a free family portrait with “Papa K”.
Truly a joyous evening, that gave way to wonderful fellowship, and fun for an entire community. Let’s do it again in 2011, on December 3rd! Yes, our committee has met and decided on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 for our 3rd annual Hali’i Christmas 2011. We will be reaching out to our community throughout the year to plan this next celebration.
God Bless, and to all a very merry Christmas.
