Fun-raising for Transportation
Friday, March 8th 2011 Blanche Pope Elementary held a fundraising event, which is best described as: A pre-sale chicken plate, rummage, plant sale, and book give-away, coupled with a well attended school dance, held in the library. Flashing lights, with the booming sounds of the latest dance tunes helped to make this day very special to the staff, students and community of Blanche Pope elementary school. With the rising cost of nearly everything that our keiki need, events like this fundraiser are common place in all school settings today. Presale of the chicken dinner plates were brisk, as the kitchen crew worked hard to make sure all customers were satisfied. With Marlene, Shawna and Joy heading the dinner plate section of the event, and Principal Ofelia Carag as cashier, all other activities just seemed to fall into place. As the dancers wiggled away, many old books were being taken away, and added to the rummage sale, to make room for new books in our new library, which is due to be dedicated on May 23rd, 2011.
