With the installation of new civic club officers for the year 2012, the Hawaiian Civic Club of Waimanalo has ushered in a new era of technological advances, that will enhance every opportunity to link with the community and its many needs. New civic club members recently added to our roster, and students of Hawaii Technology Institute, have taken on the committee positions in technology, expansion and communication. These newly formed civic club committee’s have the kuleana of determining how technology can play a roll in the growth of our civic club. Within a few days of its inception, these committee’s have already posted our civic club page on facebook. Many of our senior members who request it, can receive training on how to access and utilize our new facebook presence.
In addition, the club’s new website is now online at http://www.hccwaimanalo.org. Look for updates there, shortly!
Social networking has been around for quite some time, and our time has come that we learn how best to use social networking, to our advantage. We are asking that you visit our facebook page and post a comment or two, or better yet, when it’s posted, fill out an online application for membership. As a matter of fact, in the very near future you will see our our very own Hawaiian Civic Club of Waimanalo Website, which will be managed by our new technology team. With a dual presence on facebook, and our website, you will experience state of the art applications, as the two sites work in conjunction with each other.
HTI can be very proud of Tasha & Arry Josue, Waimanalo residents and civic club members, who have applied their training to the advancement and growth of their community, through their active participation with the Hawaiian Civic Club of Waimanalo. If our future is dependent on such commitment to learning, then these women are models of how this learning will help shape the future of our children, families, and communities. Mahalo Ke Akua
