Turkey Dinner’s for the community…..

Our Schedule:

11-21-12:Wednesday November 21, 2012 Hoolua distributed 30 complete turkey dinners to the needy, in Waimanalo.  These were complete meals purchased from Foodland Kailua by an anonymous donor, and presented to Ho’olu’a for distribution through the Castle Medical Chaplain’s outreach ministries.  It is safe to estimate that these donations reached a minimum of 125 needy persons in our community. Mahalo Ke Akua

11-23-12:Serve a hot thanksgiving meal to the homeless on this date. Menu includes Kalua turkey, gravy, rolls, hot rice, corn, corn bread, pumpkin pie, and a cold drink.  We will also be handing out warm blankets and clothing to the homeless, with keeping keiki warm as our goal. Mahalo Ke Akua

So this was the “Caravan of Thanksgiving” team who visited the houseless, on Friday November 23, 2012. Each vehicle held a kuleana in this caravan. V-1:paper goods/bread rolls V-2:hot turkey, corn and gravy V-3:Deserts(pies, cornbread, and more) V-4: Hydration(lemonade) V-5:Warm blankets & clothing.  With this system we were able to serve nearly 100 hot meals, at the following sites:Makapu’u, makai range pier, Waimanalo beach park, Waimanalo bay beach park, Waimanalo district park, L & L Drive-in, and the little balance we had left went to a needy family in Waimanalo.  It was a beautiful day on the bay, and our team shared their Aloha with these families as deeply, as they shared it with each other.  Ke Akua blessed this day for a sharing of blessings. We will do this again, Ke Akua willing, on Christmas eve. So mark your calendars, drop us an email or sign-up on our website, to share the Aloha in our December “Caravan of Giving”, when we take hot meals once again to the houseless of Waimanalo.  We will once again serve Kalua Turkey, Gravy, veggies, hot rice, roles, and if you got a desert that you would like to share in the Desert Van, then please join us.  It’s fun and a lasting memory of Aloha.

By the Grace of Ke Akua, we serve……
